Its consumers include power and steel sectors, cement, fertilizers, brick kilns, and others. It has approximately 21 training institutes and 68 vocational training centers. Its subsidiaries include Eastern Coalfields Limited, Bharat Coking Coal Limited, Central Coalfields Limited, Western Coalfields Limited, South Eastern Coalfields Limited, Northern Coalfields Limited, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited, CIL Navikarniya Urja Limited and others.
