Note on Purification and Zakat

  • Purification and Zakat (for long-term investing) calculations are in USD per share and based on AAOIFI methodology. AAOIFI requires purification every financial period (e.g. quarterly).
  • If you follow S&P Shariah’s Dividend-only purification, then remove the impure income % from the dividends you receive. No purification required for non-dividend paying stocks, according to S&P Shariah.
  • For Zakat, if you did not invest in a company from a long term perspective, then consider the shares as trading goods and give 2.5% of the total value if a year has passed on them.

Company Profile

Kairos Minerals Ltd is an Australia-based exploration company targeting lithium and gold discoveries in Western Australia’s premier mining districts. The Company’s core focus is on the 100%-owned Pilbara Gold Projects. Its flagship asset in the Pilbara of Western Australia is the advanced Mt York deposit, located approximately 100 kilometers (km) south-east of Port Hedland. It also holds approximately 1,235 square kilometers of tenure in the Pilbara, including the Mt York tenements. Its other Pilbara projects include Croydon Project, Wodgina Project and others. Its 100%-owned Roe Hills Project comprises over 19 granted, contiguous exploration licenses located over 120 km east of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia’s Eastern Goldfields, which comprises a tenement portfolio of gold, nickel and cobalt mineralization. It has also discovered spodumene-bearing pegmatites adjacent to the Mt York Gold Project and is evaluating their potential to become part of a lithium project.
