The Anadarko Basin is an oil and gas development province with existing oil and gas gathering. The Anadarko Basin is a geologic feature covering over 50,000 square miles, primarily in west-central Oklahoma but also including the upper Texas Panhandle, southwestern Kansas and south-eastern Colorado. It is also focused on oil and gas plays, including STACK and SCOOP. The STACK consists of the Sooner Trend, Anadarko Basin, Canadian, and Kingfisher Counties, and SCOOP consists of the South Central Oklahoma Oil Province. The plays are developed through horizontal drilling and completion techniques targeting the Mississippian aged formations and the Woodford Shale.
