Shamal Az-Zour Al-Oula Power and Water Company KSCP, formerly Shamal Az Zour Al Oula KSC, is a Kuwait-based company that produces water and electricity in the State of Kuwait. The Company is engaged in the building, execution, operation, management and maintenance of Az-Zour North gas-fired combined cycle power and water plant. The project is comprised of Gas Fired Az-Zour North Power Plant and Az-Zour North Water Desalination Plant. The Az-Zour North Power plant is based on a combined cycle gas turbine technology that uses heat recovery steam generators and steam turbines. The turbines generate approximately 1000 megawatt (MW) of electricity using natural gas as primary fuel and fuel oil (gas oil) as back-up fuel. The desalination plant is comprised of a multiple-effect distillation (MED) unit capable of producing over 100 million imperial gallons per day (MIGD) of drinking water.
