Methaq Takaful Insurance PSC (Methaq) is a United Arab Emirates-based company that offers insurance and reinsurance products and services in accordance with Islamic sharia principles. The Company’s principal activities include accidents and civil responsibility insurance, fire insurance, land, marine and air transportation dangers insurance, reinsurance, health insurance and onshore and offshore oil and gas fields and facilities services. For operating purposes, the Company is organized into two business segments: Underwriting of general takaful business, which includes all classes of general takaful , fire, marine, motor, general accident and medical; and Investments, which include investments in United Arab Emirates marketable equity securities, term deposits with banks, overseas managed portfolios and other securities. The Company operates through its head office in Abu Dhabi and branch offices in Dubai.
