Company Profile

Argenica Therapeutics Limited is an Australia-based clinical-stage biotechnology company. The Company develops neuroprotective therapeutics for patients following stroke and other acute neurological injuries. Its drug candidate, ARG-007, is designed to protect vulnerable brain tissue by reducing cell death and limiting secondary damage after an ischemic event. The Company has completed a Phase I clinical trial in healthy human volunteers to assess the safety and tolerability of a single dose of ARG-007. It has completed a Phase II clinical trial in ischaemic stroke patients, as well as continuing to generate preclinical data in other neurological conditions. The ARG-007 has a plurifunctional mechanism of action, affecting neuronal excitotoxicity, calcium influx and mitochondrial dysfunction, and reducing the activation of damaging proteolytic enzymes which enhances its neuroprotective potential and translational clinical effectiveness.
