Allegiance Coal Limited is an Australia-based company that is engaged in the acquisition and exploration of coal tenements. It is focused on seaborne met coal mine development and operations with operating mines in southeast Colorado, Alabama, as well as a development project in northwest British Columbia. Its projects include Tenas, New Elk, Back Warrior and Short Creek. The Tenas Project is located over 375 kilometers (km) by rail to the deep water port of Prince Rupert, and Ridley Coal Terminal, and from Ridley it is a competitive shipping distance to the northeast Asian steel mills compared to steelmaking coal from the east coast of Australia. The New Elk Project is located in Las Animas County in southeast Colorado bordering northeast New Mexico. The Black Warrior Project is an operating mine located over 25 km northwest of Birmingham Alabama that produces steelmaking coal supplied to Alabama Power as thermal coal. The Short Creek Project is located west of Birmingham, Alabama.
